Tyree Johnson, also known as “Tyree the Drummer”, is a 34 year old Kansas City native. He is a highly respected drummer, music film scorer, record producer & audio engineer.
Tyree is the house drummer for Lonnie’s Reno Club and the Mutual Musicians Foundation located in the heart of Kansas City Missouri.
He is also the proud co-CEO of We Tha Wave Music LLC and CEO of Kansas City Drum Academy.
In late 2022 Johnson was featured in a documentary presented by Jazz at Lincoln Center called “Where Jazz Lives” the Kansas City edition.
Tyree’s goals are to inspire others through his musical abilities. To empower and equip his students with musical skills. To spread support throughout all musical communities while using every opportunity to inject positive music into the universe.
