My name is Tyree Johnson, also known as “Tyree the Drummer”. I’m a 34 year old Kansas City native. I am a highly respected drummer, music film scorer, record producer & audio engineer. .
I’m the proud co-CEO of We Tha Wave Music LLC and CEO of Kansas City Drum Academy.
In late 2022 I was very fortunate to be chosen to be featured in a documentary presented by Jazz at Lincoln Center called “Where Jazz Lives” the Kansas City edition.
My goals are to inspire others through my musical gifts. To empower and equip my students with musical skills and to spread support throughout all musical communities while using every opportunity to inject positive harmonies and rhythms into the universe.
